Abstract

This article concerns intersectoriality as an issue of fundamental importance for Brazilian social policy. It conducts a systematization of bibliographic production about its basic concepts, and analyzes the elements needed for its realization and how it is treated in the realm of health policy and social assistance. It understands that intersectoriality is a bold proposal, but one that is necessary to achieve integral protection as foreseen by the Brazil's Federal Constitution of 1988.
